Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. S.N. Olness of Wilmington; a son Ernest J. Alford of Wilmington; two sisters Mrs. Jane Carney and Mrs. Sue Nylen both of Wilmington, two brothers Archie E. Byrd of Wilmington, and Dudley J. Byrd of Norfolk Virginia; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Jackey C. Morgan of Bat Cave; a daughter, Billie Shehan of Spartanburg, S.C.; two brothers, Andrew “Buck” Halford and Roy Halford, both of Hendersonville; 15 grandchildren 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday morning February 13, 2020 at the Beulah Christian Baptist Church. She was born in Wake County the daughter of the late Ida Lee Woodlief Alford and James Hyatt Alford and was preceded in death by her husband; Preston “Dick” Perry, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Ollie Ree Alford, 47, wife of Millard C. Alford, of Thomasville, route 2, died at her home today following an illness of one month. She reported the parents of James are Sidney Alford and, incorrectly, Mary Carlisle. A funeral will be held at noon Thursday at the ChaPines of Jackson Funeral Service.... Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park…. NC Deaths also lists his birth date as 18 Oct 1917 and says he was born and died in Nash Co. She was the sister of his first wife, Magnolia Collins.

Mrs. Alford is survived by five daughters, Rose M. Fennel, Shirley Fennell, Jessie R. Sellers, and Evita M. Turner, all of Harrells, and George . Mary Jane Gainey Alford, 83, of 1455 Tomahawk Highway died Wednesday in Sampson County Memorial Hospital in Clinton. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Carter Prillaman of Stoneville and son-in-law, Robert H. “Bobby” Prilliman; five nephews and one niece. She loved singing in the church choirs and spending time with her church family. Some of her fondest memories were sharing time with family at the Thanksgiving gatherings in St. Pauls. A funeral service celebrating her life was held 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon March 9, 2016 at the Harris Chapel Baptist Church.
Sunday, May 16, 1999 at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.... Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her son David Earp, grandson, Matthew Earp, and nine siblings. She is preceded in death by her husband Hopkin Alford, and siblings, Don M. Harrelson, Mack I. Harrelson and Helen Barnhill. Martha Medlin Alford 73, of 1761 Moores Pond Rd. passed away Thursday surrounded by her family at Guardian Care Nursing home in Zebulon. A native of Wake County, daughter of Lonnie and Lela Medlin Poole of Wakefield.
